Dani Sordo Citroen Xsara Mexico Rally 2006

I was planning to do something different for me! Actually I left my hobby for a while, and I intended to restart doing something that I never tried before. The plan is to make something like showed below. A rally car diorama in service park ! Notice that scratches don't have any figures, but they will be added in final version!

July 11

First thing: Search for some reference pictures of Dani Sordo Xsara. You can find something in www.rally-live.com, www.hisparally.com, www.pf-rallyfoto.cz and www.ewrc.cz. Humm, don't forget www.danielsordo.com!!

I have also some Rally X magazines. No, I don't speak Japanese, but the photos are enough for a modeler!! I've take some pictures from some magazines (I hope I buy a scanner!!)

These pictures are taken from 2004 Works Xsara, and I hope they can help me to project the front and car inside.

The project will be based in Heller Xsara 2003 model (80751) that I have (Yes, I could buy a 2004 Heller Xsara, but is not so easy to find it in Brazil !!) I will have a lot of scratch to build !

Some news. I'll made copies of original plastic model to cut off bonnet and doors, so... we need silicon rubber. I use a box made of wood to perform a good casting. You can notice the hole to resin casting.

I've made the first proto in resin. A lot of bubbles inside but a god shape acuration .

Some shape corrections... And the second proto is ready!

3 days without actions.. I'm back to open Xsara doors ! But before, some drill is needed in proto2

A lot of work to do! I have to drill out the doors. Fallow the pics!

The 2nd door is opened !

I´m back, facing some problems. I had to remake the B bar in both sides using evergreen. In las picture, you can see the car chassis' base

Well, the doors are cutted off. Inside parts are done also!

Sptember 1st

The body shell is ready. Next step: putting and sanding!!
