R A U - ROBOT

My first intelligent robot project was RAU - Remote Action Unit, which was a small robot to be used in rescue or inspection operations.

It was made by aluminum with 23 x 20 x 19 cm and 11 kg. RAU was my dissertation and inside its controller I built a fuzzy inference machine, using Mamdani inference. The controller, based in 8051 microcontroller, was programming in ANSI C language and deals with linguistic variables like: near and far, turn to left a little , turn to right a little for example.

RAU was also the first mobile robot built in Santa Catarina, inside an university and it was presented in Fenasoft fair in 1999.

Nowadays RAU is laid in my house, waiting for a new "brother".

If you are interesting in my dissertation, I have worked with fuzzy logic, microcontroller and C language, you can download it here (PDF), from Federal University of Santa Catarina .

You could also see some RAU pictures in this page!

RAU II ROBOT

The RAU II Robot was made to inspect air conditioner pipelines in cleaning operations. It is smaller and lighter than RAU, 3.5 kg and 21 x 15 x 9 cm.

RAU II is built in Nylon and is 4 wheel drive robot. The off-road wheels can transmit the power to surface even in heavy dirt situations.

This project is working in a small enterprise in my town and pictures will be available soon.

UNIBOT

UNIBOT - Unisul Robot is the first robot developed in Unisul, Universidade do Sul de Santa Catarina, where I'm teaching. The project was born in Computer Science Department to motivate their students and lectures.

UNIBOT will indicate the rooms to visitors in Unisul and at this moment, it is 95% concluded ( May/02). It has an aluminum structure, is 1,70 m tall and 42 kg of weight and the "brain" is a Pentium 166 MHz.

You can find some information about project in our research group page ( Portuguese only).

MiniSpider
MiniSpider is my first legged robot and I'm using a PIC microcontroller to control it. I start the project a few days ago and I'm planing to finish it next July.
